    Abstract
The Chief Guest Dr. Luis Franchesci, The Dean School of Law, Prof. P.L.O Lumumba, Lady Justice Hellen Omondi, Prof. Henry Lugulu, Dean School of Law, Moi University Invited Guests Staff, Students, Ladies and Gentlemen, 2 I greet you all in the name of Jesus Christ. I’m glad to join you in this 1st School of Law Luncheon, an initiative of law students in the honor of the first graduating class. Kabarak University has special interest of positioning this school to international standards and produce lawyers with strong ethics and integrity, build on Biblical Christian values. The students who have just completed their law degree in Kabarak University should know that they are not like other lawyers. We have properly nurtured you to be the salt and light of the judiciary in Kenya anchored on your legal education from a Biblical perspective. 3 I now charge, as you leave this University with the words of Joshua 1:7-8 “Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Ladies and gentlemen, perhaps the most profound attribute of Kabarak University is indomitable resilience in 4 developing responsible men and women who are guided by Biblical Christian values. The important lesson here is that our institutional, moral and Intellectual watersheds must be built upon Biblical morality and upon Jesus our Lord and Savior. You need to go out there and demonstrate that you are built the foundation of Jesus Christ the solid rock. May I remind you of our moral code, which states clearly, that we purpose at all times and in all places to set apart in our hearts Jesus Christ as Lord. Let this be engraved in your hearts through out your life. 5 This ensures that when the rebound moment finally comes calling, you are able to stand the test of time. I expect you to do this with commitment and to the best of your ability. To the rest of the students I wish to applaud you for resilience you have shown in your academic pursue. You have clearly shown that you are unique lawyers in the making. The management is committed to give you every support you require to excel in your career. I wish to recognize the members of staff who have been your role models and have done all they could to prepare, 6 nurture and train you to come out as top lawyers in Kenya and in the international job market. I wish also to thank our guest speaker who has found time out of his busy schedule to come and grace this occasion. All guests who have come to join us, thank you very much and God bless you.
