| dc.description.abstract | Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has in the recent past become a vital component of our society. It is one among the developing kind of technologies in Kenya and has influenced how many organisations carry out their daily operations. With reference to the academic cycle and more specifically in schools and higher education institution, Information and Communication Technology adoption has been on the increase and is changing how operations are being handled from admission, learning, teaching and many other areas. This paper reports on the ICT areas of application, its effects and importance in Kenyan schools and higher education institutions. It also focuses on the different models of ICT adoption by the institutions and examines why adoption of ICT is a matter of necessity and a prime factor in quality learning for Kenyan schools and higher education institutions. This paper concludes by highlighting the different ways on how institutions can adopt Information and Communication Technologies and the fundamental recommended infrastructures that may need to be laid before adopting Information and Communication Technologies. | en_US |
